Why Nominations Matter
Many extraordinary artists work outside the traditional art world, creating original, high-quality pieces that are accessible and provide more meaning to everyday life. Often, these artists aren’t widely known—not because their work isn’t innovative or a potential masterpiece, but because they lack visibility. Arthouse wants to change this by showcasing diverse creatives and making art accessible to everyone.
What Kind of Local Artist Are We Looking For?
We want to hear about local artists who:
- Create original works in any medium—painting, sculpture, photography, mixed media, and more
- Have a compelling personal story or artistic journey that might even involve a new career path
- Sell their artwork in a price range affordable to typical homeowners ($100–$10,000)
- Work from a studio space that could be featured on television
- Are passionate about connecting with new audiences and collectors, perhaps showing their desire to find more meaning or a new purpose
If you know someone who fits this description—whether they are a friend, neighbor, relative, or community member—we want to learn more about them. Artists like Leslie Goldman and others who have taken successful shifts in their careers should be recognized.
How to Submit a Nomination
Nominating an artist is simple. Once our crowdfunding campaign goes live, simply choose the “nominate an artist” perk and we will follow up with you to get the following:
- The artist’s name and location, such as Sean Yang or others
- A brief overview of their work and why you think they would be a great fit for Arthouse
- Any relevant links to their website or social media profiles
- Your relationship to the artist
- Whether the artist knows you are nominating them
Again, we will follow up with you directly to obtain all pertinent nomination about your nomination. Our production staff will review all submissions as we scout for talent across the country, always looking for luminous creativity in the art marketplace.
