Arterial.org Extends Support to NOT REAL ART, Boosting Artist Empowerment and Visibility
LOS ANGELES, CA – [Insert Date] – Arterial.org, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit media organization dedicated to amplifying human creativity, has announced its continued sponsorship of NOT REAL ART. This collaboration ensures the sustainability and growth of NOT REAL ART’s initiatives, significantly enhancing artist empowerment and visibility through grants, education, exhibitions, and podcasts.
Founded by Scott “Sourdough” Power, Arterial draws its inspiration from decades of work in the creative sector. With operations in Los Angeles, New York City, and Asheville, NC, the organization is actively reshaping how the arts are supported and consumed across mediums including film, television, podcasting, radio, publishing, and live events.
“Arterial was created to fill a critical gap in how artists and the arts are supported and represented,” said Scott Power, Founder of Arterial. “Our work goes beyond philanthropy to amplify the stories, creativity, and contributions of artists in ways that inspire the public and grow the creative economy. Through our programs and partnerships, we aim to make the arts more accessible, inclusive, and impactful.”
Arterial’s Mission and Impact
Arterial operates under three core tenets:
- Artists Are Vital to society and deserve visibility and recognition for their contributions.
- Artists Drive the Economy, contributing trillions globally while creating cultural value.
- Artists Need Media Exposure to reach broader audiences and grow their impact.
Arterial’s programs address critical challenges in arts funding, representation, and accessibility, with measurable impact in its first year of operation:
- Grant Program: Arterial funded the completion of The Underbelly Project, a groundbreaking art documentary premiering at Miami Art Week 2024.
- Strategic Partnerships: Collaborated with Random Media to distribute Arterial’s stories on streaming platforms, ensuring greater exposure for creative content.
- Sponsorships: Provided financial and structural support to initiatives like the Classic Black documentary celebrating Black excellence in classical music and acquired sponsorship rights to the NOT REAL ART podcast network.
- PBS Content Support: Partnered with SoCal PBS and Austin PBS to promote Emmy-winning programs like Artbound.
- Digital Expansion: Acquired ArtsvilleUSA.com, a platform celebrating American contemporary arts and crafts, and initiated the development of Arterial Radio, an internet-based talk radio channel dedicated to creative culture.
Support for NOT REAL ART
A cornerstone of Arterial’s work is its sponsorship of NOT REAL ART, a platform founded by Scott Power to celebrate and empower artists through grants, podcasts, exhibitions, education, and live events. With Arterial’s backing, NOT REAL ART has expanded its reach and impact:
- The NOT REAL ART Podcast Network: Offering over 300 hours of programming across six podcasts, the network connects artists and audiences with compelling, creative stories.
- Annual Grant Program: Since 2019, NOT REAL ART has awarded $2,000 grants to six contemporary artists annually, providing financial support and exposure through its blog and podcast features.
- First Friday Exhibitions: These online exhibitions showcase the work of grant recipients and other artists, offering a thematic exploration of creativity that inspires and provokes thought.
- NOT REAL ART School: Free online courses provide artists with essential business skills, including licensing, copyright, and branding, bridging the gap between creative practice and professional success.
“By supporting platforms like NOT REAL ART, we’re not just preserving art; we’re building a future where creativity is celebrated and accessible to all,” added Power.
A Vision for the Future
Arterial’s vision is to democratize the arts and make them more accessible through programs that entertain, inform, and inspire. By collaborating with top creators, producers, and organizations, Arterial ensures that critical stories about human creativity are told—stories that commercial media might otherwise overlook.
