Arterial is thrilled to support Emmy Award winning SoCal PBS Series Artbound providing financial support for two premiere events during the show’s fall 2024 season. This collaboration advances Arterial’s mission to increase visibility and accessibility of arts programming in mainstream media.
About Artbound

PBS SoCal’s Artbound documents the work and creative processes of artists making an impact in Southern California and beyond. The Emmy Award-winning series showcases the region’s cultural legacy through episodes featuring significant stories, from the intersection of Cheech Marin’s museum The Cheech in Riverside, CAÂ honoring the rich heritage of Chicano artists in America to the legacy of L.A.’s Brockman Gallery, a center for Black artists from 1967 to 1990.
“PBS SoCal’s commitment to arts programming aligns with Arterial’s core mission, and our support of Artbound helps create opportunities for direct community engagement with important artistic voices and stories that need broader exposure.”

Expanding Arts Programming
Arterial’s support of Artbound addresses the ongoing challenge of arts representation in mainstream media. As a 501(c)(3) organization, Arterial supports projects that advance three principles: ensuring access to arts as vital to society, addressing media underrepresentation, and growing the art economy through increased exposure.
The impact extends beyond Southern California, with Austin PBS expressing interest in airing Arterial content. This development suggests potential for broader national distribution of arts programming, supporting Arterial’s goal to increase access to arts content across regions and communities.
For the 2024 fall season, Artbound continues featuring artists and cultural innovators shaping California’s artistic landscape. The premiere events, supported by Arterial, will connect these artists with communities through in-person screenings and discussions.
Viewers can watch Artbound on PBS SoCal and stream episodes through the PBS app. For information about upcoming premiere events and screening schedules, visit pbssocal.org/shows/artbound.
